ZIFLP JOINS ITS PARTNERS IN LAUNCHING “PLANT A MILLION TREES”

The Zambia Integrated Forest Landscape Project (ZIFLP) has continued strengthening its partnership with various stakeholders and development partners in its efforts to help contribute to reducing Green House Gas Emissions (GHG) from the Agriculture, Forest and Energy sector through promoting sustainable management of natural resources.

On 4th October, 2018, ZIFLP joined its various partners in launching “Plant a Million Trees” (PAM) at Katopola Farm Institute in Chipata District of the Eastern Province of Zambia.

The colorful event was launched by former Republican President Dr Rupiah Banda who underscored the importance of planting trees for a sustainable future.

Participants were drawn from Government Ministries; Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and Ministry of Energy among other Ministries, including, schools, farming communities and Cooperatives.

Other notable delegates included; European Union, Diplomats, Ambassador accredited to Zambia, Tradition Leaders, Provincial and District Administration.
