IS CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE THE ANSWER TO INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY?

Following the provision of farming inputs to our lead farmers and further recruitment and training of 10,755 Lead Farmers through the Train of Trainers approach from all the two hundred and thirty-nine (239) Agricultural Camps in the Eastern Province of Zambia, we were excited and eager to see the outcomes and performance of their Maize, Soybeans and Sunflower Fields.

Our lead farmers from Muzime Camp in Katete District of Eastern Province were excited and happy with our Mission visit to their farm fields of Maize, Sunflower and Soybeans.

Jane Banda is one of our lead farmers practicing CSA and informed the mission team that there has been a difference in productivity levels from the time she started engaging in CSA practices. “I am a farmer and apart from maize I also grow soybeans, but specifically with Maize, I have noticed a difference in productivity levels because of Climate Smart Agriculture”, she stated.
